I've been reading about the Newhall Incident and can't help but feel a deep sense of loss for the families of the officers, particularly for CHP Officer George M. Alleyn. It's unsettling to think about how quickly everything unfolded and how George, along with his fellow officers, walked into such a perilous situation without knowledge of what had just happened to Frago and Gore. As a community, we often focus on the procedural changes that followed, but it's vital to honor and remember the individuals who paid the ultimate price. The fear and confusion they must have faced in those moments are hard to comprehend. My thoughts go out to their families, whose lives were forever altered on that tragic day. Has anyone come across any personal stories or remembrances shared by the officers' families? I think it's important we keep their memories alive.
