Anyone else find it incredibly puzzling how there’s so little information about Carole Judith Phillips' case from 1974? I mean, here we have a vibrant 33-year-old woman suddenly gone, and it’s like her story just vanished. I can't help but think about the burden her family must have borne, especially without getting answers. The fact it's been nearly 50 years and we still don’t have a clear understanding of what happened to her feels like a huge injustice.
It got me thinking—what if the lack of media coverage and official statements at the time could have impacted potential leads or community involvement in solving her case? This was a time when true crime reporting wasn’t as prevalent as it is now. I wonder if things would have been different if the circumstances were brought to light in today’s media environment.
Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone here has insights on how cases from that era are often revisited or anything specific about LA in the 70s that might have affected how investigations were conducted. Carole deserves to be remembered, and any little detail could help paint a fuller picture of her life and untimely death.
