Has anyone else delved into the background of the shooter in the George Barthel case? I'm curious about what led up to that tragic day and what might have been going on in the minds of these young suspects, especially the one who was convicted. How could someone be driven to commit such a heinous act against those who have dedicated their lives to protecting others? I know that understanding the circumstances doesn't change the fact or lessen the pain of losing someone like Deputy Barthel, but I think it might give us a clearer picture of what went wrong. It's a disturbing thought that these incidents can happen so suddenly and violently. My heart goes out to the Barthel family and his partner, who showed unimaginable bravery that day. Does anyone remember any similar incidents during that era in LA? It would be interesting to see if there's a broader pattern or if this was an isolated incident.
