I'm really struggling to wrap my head around the senseless violence that seems to be escalating in Birmingham. Hearing about Juloshiby Dontrell Lawrence's tragic death has been a gut punch. It's scary to think that someone so young just starting out in life had his future completely stolen away. Particularly unsettling is the level of confusion it caused at UAB with the campus-wide alert; it must have been terrifying for everyone there. The families involved in incidents like this have so many unanswered questions and are left to piece together shattered lives. It's unsettling knowing this could happen to anyone's loved one without warning. My heart goes out to the family and friends left behind, and I hope we're able to find a path to a safer community for everyone. Anyone else in the area noticing an increase in gun-related incidents, or is this just a particularly rough week?

It's so sad to hear about the senseless loss of Juloshiby Dontrell Lawrence. My heart goes out to his friends and family dealing with such a sudden tragedy. What's really concerning is how there were multiple shootings in Birmingham on the same day. It seems like gun violence is becoming more rampant, and it's terrifying to think how any one of us could be caught in the middle of it. The confusion with the campus-wide alert at UAB must have been pretty scary for everyone there, too. I'm hoping the authorities can get to the bottom of these incidents quickly. It feels like something needs to change to prevent more lives from being cut short so tragically. Anyone else have thoughts on what can be done for community safety around here?
