I've been thinking about the resilience of Norman R. Eckles, and I can’t help but feel deep respect for his unwavering commitment to law enforcement, even after such a life-changing injury. Continuing to work and testify from a wheelchair must have taken incredible strength and determination. It must have been so challenging to maintain focus and professionalism through the pain and medication. His family and colleagues must have been a significant source of support during those years—hopefully giving him some comfort and motivation. Hearing about his contributions as a police consultant and expert in narcotics cases is truly inspiring. It’s unfortunate that the legal system couldn’t provide more justice given the circumstances surrounding his death, but remembering his dedication and legacy, especially in the safety of others, is a testament to the kind of person he was.
