Has anyone else read about Victor Maximiliano "Chito" Rivera's story from the San Ysidro McDonald's tragedy? It's so gut-wrenching to think about what he and all those innocent people went through that day. From what I've gathered, Chito was only 25 and had his whole life ahead of him before this horrible act took it away.
I'm curious how the community has supported the victims' families over the years. It's been decades, but the pain must still be very real for those who loved him. I also wonder if there have been any local memorials or initiatives in San Ysidro that continue to keep their memories alive.
For those in the area or anyone familiar with how the community has coped, how have things changed over the years? What can be done to support efforts that honor people like Chito and advocate for changes to prevent such tragedies from happening again?
