Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the lives lost in the San Ysidro McDonald's tragedy, and I wanted to talk about Gloria Lopez Gonzalez. From the little snippets I've read, Gloria was just 22 years old and had a whole life ahead of her. It’s haunting to imagine someone so young having their future stolen in such a horrific way. What really strikes me is how, despite the chaos and fear of that day, there were still moments of bravery and humanity. I've heard some survivors talk about how people tried to shield others, even in their last moments. It gives me a bit of solace to think that in such darkness, those acts of selflessness shone through. I truly hope Gloria's family has found some measure of peace over the years. It’s difficult to comprehend the weight of such a loss, but knowing that she, and others like her, are remembered and honored can perhaps offer some comfort. If anyone has more stories or memories about Gloria, it’d be great to share them here. It's a way to ensure she’s never forgotten. Sending love to all those affected. ?

I’ve been reflecting on Gloria Lopez Gonzalez and how the ripple effects of July 18, 1984, still touch so many lives. I recently learned about a memorial that was erected to honor Gloria and the other victims of the San Ysidro McDonald's massacre. It's a beautiful tribute, offering a place for the community to gather and remember those lost. Seeing people come together to support one another and keep the memory of loved ones alive is truly moving. It's comforting to know that Gloria’s spirit is celebrated and that her story continues to inspire conversations around change and healing. Has anyone visited the memorial recently? How has the community been holding up in the years following such a horrific event? My thoughts are with all the families affected as we continue to seek understanding and hope for a future free from such violence.
