I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact that Daniel Osentkowski's bravery had on stopping Horace Edward Kelly's crime spree. It’s incredibly haunting to know that at just 11 years old, Daniel had the courage to stand up and protect his cousin. His actions were nothing short of heroic, and his sacrifice ultimately led to Kelly's capture. I can’t imagine the pain his family must feel, but I hope they find some solace in knowing that Daniel's courage potentially saved countless others. It’s so difficult to comprehend how a young child had to confront such horror and danger. It makes me appreciate the strength of character he must have possessed. My heart goes out to everyone affected by these tragedies; it’s a stark reminder of the darkness that can exist, as well as the incredible bravery that can shine through it.
