I was revisiting the Sanchez case recently and came across something that really struck me. It's about the impact his death must have had on his family, especially on his sons, Larry and Anthony. Losing a parent is unimaginably difficult, and knowing their father was murdered while serving the community adds another layer of tragedy. His father, Larry Sr., being an 18-year veteran of the CHP, must have felt a complex mix of pride and heartbreak for his son's dedication and ultimate sacrifice. Does anyone know if his sons ever followed in his or their grandfather's footsteps into law enforcement, or did they choose different paths entirely? It's so important to remember the personal side of these stories and the legacy of those who serve.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share something about Deputy Clifford Sanchez that really struck me. I recently learned about his service in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk before he joined the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. It’s amazing how he dedicated so much of his life to serving others, first in the military and then in law enforcement. What's truly admirable is how he transitioned from serving his country to protecting his community. It makes this senseless tragedy even more impactful knowing how deeply committed he was to public service. I can't imagine the immense pride his family felt—and still feel—in all that he achieved. As we remember Sanchez, let’s also honor all those who serve and protect, often placing themselves in danger for our safety. This whole situation is a tough reminder of how fragile life is, especially for those in such challenging professions. My thoughts are with his family and friends, and all those who knew him.
