I came across the story of Julie Gottesman and the tragic events of PSA Flight 1771, and my heart goes out to her family and the families of all the victims. What a terrifying and senseless loss. I’ve been thinking about the security lapses that allowed David Burke to smuggle a weapon onto the plane, and it’s deeply unsettling. It makes me wonder how much progress has truly been made since then in terms of airline safety and security. I know this incident led to significant changes, like more rigorous screenings and reinforced cockpit doors, but every now and then, I still hear about breaches that make me uneasy. It seems like Julie and the others paid the ultimate price for these shifts in policy. Their stories deserve to be remembered, not just for the heartbreak they endured but for the lessons their tragedy taught us. Does anyone know if there have been any anniversaries or memorials where people continue to discuss and honor Julie and all those on Flight 1771? Would love to hear more about efforts to keep their memories alive.

Did anyone else come across Julie Gottesman's story while looking into the PSA Flight 1771 tragedy? I recently stumbled on old newspaper clippings and it struck me how this was supposed to be an exciting new chapter for her. As a flight attendant on her first training flight, Julie never got the chance to embark on what I'm assuming was her dream career. It's so deeply unfair and must have been devastating for her loved ones and colleagues, having to reconcile such a senseless end to what should have been a promising journey. I can't help but think about how aviation security protocols have changed since then, and how events like this one, while terribly tragic, have pushed forward advancements in safety. This is little consolation to those who lost someone that day, but maybe it's a small comfort to know that strides have been made to protect future passengers. If anyone has more insights or personal stories about Julie, I'd be grateful to hear and learn more about the person she was beyond this horrific incident.
