I've been thinking about the role of school staff in situations like what happened to Valente Patino. From what I understand, there were many students around during the altercation, which makes me wonder if any teachers or security personnel were present or nearby at the time. Were there any policies in place at King City High to handle conflicts, especially considering the gang issues that seem to have been prevalent back then? It's tough because schools should be a place where students feel safe, but clearly, the reality can be quite different. I hope what's happened has led to changes and improvements in how schools manage disputes and ensure student safety. My heart goes out to Valente's family and loved ones; navigating life without him must be incredibly difficult.
