Hey everyone, I've been thinking about Patrick Barnett's case and can't shake the feeling that the key to solving it might lie in that argument witnesses reported seeing just before his murder. It's so frustrating to consider that someone saw the confrontation, yet the details we have are still so vague after all these years. Was this person just a random passerby, or could they have been involved? It really makes you wonder what more the LAPD could've done at the start. Reading about how the family had to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the city is just exhausting. I can't imagine the pain of losing a loved one and then feeling like those responsible for finding justice are dropping the ball. If anyone here knows about witness statements from back then or why none of them led somewhere promising, please share. Hoping for the day Barnett’s family finally gets some peace. Stay safe, everyone.

Does anyone here have insights on why the ballistics evidence in Patrick Barnett's case didn’t lead to any solid convictions? I’ve read that there were advancements in forensic tech in the early 2000s, but it sounds like this didn’t quite pan out for Patrick’s case. I find it so baffling that with multiple suspects and presumably updated testing, there’s still no justice. Maybe the initial mishandling of the evidence, as the family alleged, played a big role in this? I can't help but feel for Patrick’s family, especially knowing how much they’ve pushed to keep the case alive. It's heartbreaking to see a family endure such a long wait for answers. If anyone has theories or knows more details about the ballistic testing and its implications in cold cases, I’d really appreciate your thoughts!

Hey everyone, I've been diving into the unresolved case of Patrick Barnett and something that sticks with me is how his family has been trying to get answers for so long. I truly can't imagine the pain they've lived with all these years. What caught my attention was the wrongful death lawsuit they filed against the city. It's really concerning to hear that they felt there was negligence in how the investigation was handled. Missing or mishandled evidence is a serious issue, and it makes you wonder how many other cases out there might be suffering from similar problems. I'm curious if any of you think this lawsuit brought any positive changes to the LAPD's procedures or if it just added another layer of hurt for the family. Would love to hear your thoughts. Hoping for some breakthrough for Patrick and his loved ones.
