Has anyone else been looking into the DNA evidence possibilities in Richard Joe Smiley Rodriguez's case? I've been following this tragic situation for a while, and it seems like advances in forensic science could play a crucial role in finally bringing some resolution. Considering the lack of eyewitnesses and physical evidence back in 2000, couldn't modern DNA analysis or even genealogy techniques help connect the dots that were previously missed? It's so frustrating that his family has had to wait this long for answers. I truly hope that any new technological developments are being utilized as much as possible to get justice for Richard and his loved ones. Has there been any recent movement from LAPD regarding this angle?

Hi everyone, I was reading through older discussions and something stuck out to me about the Richard Joe Smiley Rodriguez case. Given that there were no immediate witnesses, do we know if there were any community outreach efforts done at the time, like meetings or events, to encourage people to come forward anonymously? I feel like that might have helped, considering how tight-knit some parts of El Sereno can be. It's tragic that after all these years, his family still doesn't have the answers they deserve. Sometimes even the smallest tip can change everything. Anyone heard of newer community initiatives that could be relevant here? His loved ones deserve some peace and I hope we don't forget to keep the conversation going.
