I've been following Ramiro Tamez Jr.'s case since it happened, and one thing that really stands out to me is the neighborhood's climate at the time. It's just so disheartening to think about how communities like Mission Hills have these undercurrents of fear that make it so tough for people to come forward. I'm really empathetic towards the residents who might have witnessed something but feel too afraid to share what they know. It must be a heavy burden.
I wonder if any community organizations or leaders are stepping up to help bridge the gap? Sometimes it seems like what victims' families need most is for someone to rally the community around them and show support—not just in words, but in action, helping to create a safe space for people to speak up. It's a collective effort, and I hope that there are folks out there working toward making it happen for families like Ramiro's. They're already enduring so much; they shouldn't have to face it alone.
