I came across this case recently and felt compelled to comment on the courage displayed by Deputy Telen during such an impossibly dangerous situation. It's a testament to his bravery that he continued to protect his community right up until his last moments. The fact that he was so young, with a family waiting for him, makes this loss even more difficult to fathom. I hope the community continues to rally around his family and supports them in every way possible. For his family, especially with his son being born after his passing, it's hard to imagine the range of emotions they must be experiencing. I can't help but think about how they must feel trying to navigate such a loss while also welcoming a new life into the world. If there's any way for us to support them, even years later, it would be a meaningful way to show that Deputy Telen’s sacrifice is not forgotten. Sending strength to those who loved him dearly.

Does anyone else find it incredibly troubling how easily the suspect armed himself with multiple firearms inside the home? I understand that people have the right to protect their property, but why weren’t these guns secured? This situation might have unfolded differently if they had been locked up. It’s such a horrendous loss for Deputy Telen’s family, and I can’t help but think of his wife and children, especially his son who was born after such a senseless act. I hope more awareness and measures come from this tragic event to prevent similar incidents in the future. Sending all my prayers to the Telen family.
