I've been following the case of the missing crew from the F/V Fierce Competitor, and something's been bugging me. I read somewhere that there was a big storm around the time they were supposed to be at sea. Does anyone know more about the weather conditions on their route from Warrenton to King Cove? Could that have played a role? It just seems odd for an entire crew to vanish without any trace, especially considering how experienced they were supposed to be. I can't help but think the weather might've been a factor, but I'm curious if anyone else has heard anything or has insights on this aspect.
I was reading about the F/V Fierce Competitor's disappearance, and something that caught my attention was the weather conditions during its route. The journey from Warrenton, OR to King Cove, AK, is notoriously unpredictable, especially around this time of year. The seas can be extremely rough. Does anyone know if there were any notable storms reported along their path? It seems crucial to understand if weather played a significant role in why there's no trace of the vessel or crew. It's troubling to think about the forces they might have been up against.
Has anyone been paying attention to the weather the F/V Fierce Competitor faced on its route? I read somewhere that the conditions between Warrenton, OR, and King Cove, AK, can be quite unpredictable. I'm no expert, but could severe weather have played a role in the disappearance of Larry Jones, Gordon Young, Vicki Rowe-Simonsen, and Robert Simonsen? Maybe there’s someone here with maritime experience who can shed some light on how likely that is or if there have been similar incidents in that area. It just seems so strange for a vessel with four people to vanish without a trace.
