I recently stumbled upon Booker T. Solomon Jr.’s case while researching unsolved murders in the Los Angeles area, and it’s deeply unsettling to think about how his family must have felt all these years without any answers. It seems there were barely any leads, which must have been incredibly frustrating for both the family and the investigators. I read that fear of retaliation might have kept potential witnesses silent. It's so sad to think that people might know something but feel too unsafe to speak up. How do we create environments where community members feel protected enough to come forward? This case really makes me reflect on the broader issue of community safety and trust in the justice system. Sending thoughts to all who knew and loved him.
