Hey everyone, I came across something interesting while looking into John Doe's disappearance back in '96. Does anyone know if there were any weather anomalies reported around the time his boat was found stranded on the Big Su River? Could sudden changes in the weather have played a role in him going missing? I've read cases where unexpected weather changes led to disorientation and accidents. Just wondering if that might give us some clues. If anyone has local knowledge from that time, would love your input!

Has anyone here ever visited the Big Su River area? I'm really curious about the terrain and how likely it might be for someone to get stranded or lost there. Especially back in '96, I imagine the search efforts were quite challenging given the landscape. It must have been frustrating for the search crews and the victim's family to have found the boat but no other traces. Has there been any talk of new searches or using more modern tech like drones in that region? It seems like an area where something could easily be missed. Would love to hear thoughts from anyone familiar with that part of Alaska or with search-and-rescue operations in similar terrains.

Hi everyone, I’ve been following the case of the missing boater from '96, and I was digging into some old records. His boat was found on the Big Su River on June 23, 1996, but the search turned up nothing at the time. Has anyone ever looked into the weather conditions that day or around that time? I’m curious if the river was particularly rough or if there had been recent storms that might have contributed to an accident. Sometimes these environmental factors get overlooked, but they could provide clues about what might have happened. Any insights from locals or people familiar with the area back then would be appreciated! Thanks!
