I came across Oscar Chavez's case from 2004 while researching unsolved crimes in Compton, and it's truly unsettling how few answers there seem to be, even after all these years. One thing that stood out to me was how the lack of witnesses has really stalled any progress. It's a terrifying thought that fear of retaliation keeps people quiet, and it's just not right. This young man's life was taken too soon, and his family deserves to know what happened to him. Does anyone know if there have been any community initiatives aimed at supporting witness safety, or outreach to encourage people to speak up? It's so important for communities to feel empowered to help bring justice in cases like this. Thoughts with Oscar's loved ones during what must still be an incredibly difficult time.
