I’ve been following the case of Regbe Bahrengasi and her children, and my thoughts are with their friends and family who continue to endure so much pain from this tragedy. One aspect that really strikes me is how the Mehari family was known for their welcoming nature, even opening their home to Tewodros Gebreselassie on Thanksgiving Day. It’s so unsettling to see how that kindness was ultimately betrayed. It speaks volumes about the character of the Mehari family and makes the violence against them even more unfathomable. This case serves as a chilling reminder of how trust can be exploited, even within the realms of family and friendship. My heart goes out to all who still feel the weight of this terrible loss.
