Hey everyone, I’ve been following the updates on the Gill Netter F/V "Pearl" incident. Has anyone else been looking into the weather conditions around the time of the capsizing? From what I gathered, the tides and currents near Grass Island Bar can be really unpredictable, even for experienced fishermen. I’m wondering if anyone has any insights or local knowledge about how these conditions might have played a part in the capsizing? Also, are there any known hazards in that vicinity that might not be on the nautical maps? Hoping they find some new information soon.

Has anyone looked into the weather conditions at the time the "Pearl" capsized? I'm trying to get a sense of whether sudden rough seas could have been a factor here. I remember hearing someone say the currents near Grass Island Bar can get tricky, and I’m wondering if the tides were unusual that day. It's just so odd that there were no traces found. If anyone has local knowledge about this area or remembers any reports of abnormal weather patterns around that time, it would be great to hear your thoughts.

I've been following the case of the Gill Netter F/V "Pearl" and its missing captain. Something that's nagging at me is why there haven't been more details released about the weather conditions around the time when the boat capsized near Grass Island Bar. I mean, was there a sudden storm or rough seas that might have contributed? Or was it just a case of unforeseen circumstances? This area around Cordova is known for its challenging waters, and it makes you wonder if there were enough safety measures in place. Any locals or anyone familiar with the region have any insights on what the conditions might have been like? It's just tough to wrap my head around a boat going down and there being no trace or leads afterwards.
