Hey everyone, I've been following the Boon Island incident, and something that's been on my mind is the challenges of that swim to shore Richard attempted. From what I’ve read, the currents around Boon Island are notoriously strong, especially at this time of year. I'm wondering if the authorities have considered that he might have been carried quite a distance from the capsizing location due to these currents. I know ocean search operations take these factors into account, but it just feels like it’d be incredibly tough, even for a strong swimmer. Has anyone else come across similar cases or have insights into how far a person could potentially drift in those conditions?
