I just stumbled across the case of Tyione Brown while looking through some old news reports, and his story really stuck with me. Losing someone so young, especially in such a terrifying way, it's just devastating. What really bothers me about Tyione’s situation is how hard it must be for his family without any closure. I can't even begin to imagine the frustration they must be feeling since it seems like there were no solid leads in the investigation. Baltimore had it rough in 2017 with all the violence, and what happened to Tyione just shows how severe the problem was (and maybe still is). It’s particularly shocking how access to illegal firearms is consistently a huge part of these tragic events. If justice for Tyione and others like him is ever going to be served, it feels like the community and authorities need to work together to make some serious changes. My heart goes out to Tyione’s family and friends—no one deserves to be left without answers like this. I hope someday they find peace and that there’s movement in the right direction for handling these tragedies in Baltimore. If anyone has updates or knows of any vigils or efforts in his memory, I’d be eager to know more.
