I've been thinking a lot about Elwood Edwards White's case and the subtle nuances that often get overlooked. One thing that really struck me is the way the DA's office investigated and cleared Deputy Astorga. It's clear from their conclusion that they believed he genuinely feared for his colleague's safety at that moment. It's so hard for me to reconcile the fear described with the tragic outcome for Elwood and his family. I can't even begin to imagine the pain they're going through, trying to get answers and accountability in such a complicated situation. I wonder if more training or alternative measures could have helped prevent this escalation. It’s situations like these that make you realize how crucial it is to continue the dialogue about police training and use of force. Thoughts?
