I was deeply moved when I read about Juan Jose Quezada and the tragic loss his family and community faced. I wanted to discuss something that really stands out to me: the role of community programs that Juan was involved in. It's so often that we see individuals like him working tirelessly to bring positive changes to neighborhoods struggling with gang violence. It makes this loss even more profound. I think we need to shine a light on the people who dedicate their lives to improving their communities and preventing violence. These programs are essential, but we rarely talk about the support they need to be truly effective. Maybe if there was more focus and funding in this area, we could help prevent future tragedies. It’s incredibly sad to lose someone who was clearly trying to make a difference. I hope this tragic event encourages more discussions about supporting and expanding these vital programs. Sending all my thoughts to Juan’s loved ones; his legacy in community work is something to be proud of.
