I’ve been following Krystal Tiahara Flesher’s case, and I’m really struck by the impact this has had on the San Jacinto community, especially since she was so young and full of promise. What makes this even harder to take in is how close the shooting happened to her home. It just shows how fragile life can be and underlines the importance of addressing the factors that contribute to gun violence. I can't begin to imagine what her family, particularly her young daughter Kaliley, must be going through. I hope the community continues to rally around them, offering support and remembering what Krystal worked so hard for in her life. Sending thoughts to everyone affected by this tragedy.

I stumbled upon Krystal’s story recently, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about her little girl, Kaliley. I can't even begin to imagine what it's like for her to grow up without her mom. Losing a parent under such tragic circumstances is something no child should ever have to endure. It’s such a cruel twist of fate that Krystal, someone who wanted to dedicate her life to helping others, was taken away so violently. Imagining the hole her passing left in her community and among those who loved her is incredibly difficult. I hope there are people in Kaliley's life who can remind her of her mother’s love and passion. It’s stories like these that keep reminding us how important it is to cherish our loved ones while we can. Sending strength to Krystal’s family and friends—her light still shines through the memories shared by those who knew her.

It’s been nearly a decade since we lost Krystal Tiahara Flesher, and I feel the weight of this loss every time I think about how her daughter, Kaliley, is growing up without her mom. I can’t help but wonder how she will remember Krystal as she grows older. Will she hear enough stories about her mom's kindness and caring nature? Krystal had so much life to live and so much love to give. It’s frustrating to think about Jonathan Delgado’s sentence—five years doesn’t seem to fit the crime when you consider the impact on Krystal’s family. I understand the legal system is complex, but it's hard not to feel for her family, who must feel this keenly. Her story is a reminder of why we need to work harder as a community to address the root causes of gun violence and provide justice that truly reflects the value of life. For those who knew her, Krystal was more than just a statistic in a legal case. Her aspirations, especially wanting to become a nurse, tell us so much about her character and the kind of person we lost. I hope that sharing memories of Krystal will keep her spirit alive and perhaps inspire others to continue spreading the kindness she was known for.
