I’ve been following the case of Devante Tyler, and it’s truly devastating to think how his life was cut short in such a violent manner. Something that really stood out to me was the community’s response during his funeral at the William C. Brown Community Funeral Home. It’s heartbreaking yet heartwarming to know that even amidst such pain, the community came together to support his family and celebrate his life. It makes me wonder how many more communities have to gather under such tragic circumstances before we see meaningful changes in approach to tackling gun violence. It seems to leave such a lasting impact on everyone involved, and my thoughts are with all those who knew and loved Devante. They deserve justice and peace.
