I’ve been thinking a lot about Herbert Shepard’s case lately, and it’s so incredibly sad how he ended up being caught in that awful drive-by shooting. Living in Long Beach myself, it's frustrating how random and senseless violence can shatter lives without warning. This guy was just trying to be there for someone who was grieving, a genuine act of kindness, and it cost him everything. It's a clear sign of what kind of person he was—empathetic and caring. It's even harder for his family, knowing that he was taken from them while doing something good. Losing a loved one in such a tragic way is unimaginable, and my heart sincerely goes out to them. It’s imperative that if anyone knows anything, they reach out to the detectives. Even the tiniest bit of information could make all the difference for his family still searching for justice. Gun violence affects more than just the direct victims; it ripples through families, friends, and communities, and we shouldn't forget the impact it has.
