The vigil held in memory of Derrick Whitfield really struck a chord with me. Seeing the community come together like that was incredibly moving. It was evident how much Derrick meant to so many people, with friends and family sharing stories and memories that highlighted his kind and generous spirit. I'm left wondering about the impact such a gathering can have, both in honoring Derrick's life and in creating a space for healing. It's been some time now, but I feel it's important we continue to support one another and work towards reducing violence in our neighborhoods. Events like this remind us of the fragility of life and the strength we find in unity. Let's hope that Derrick's story encourages us all to strive for a safer community. ❤️
