Has anyone else been following the Paul Blanco case from 2007? I recently stumbled across it and found it intriguing how snowmobiling on a frozen lake could lead to such a mysterious disappearance. I know there were searches, but I'm curious if anyone has read more into Lake Sebago's conditions back then. Was it common for the ice to have open water patches or was this an unusual situation? It seems risky to "skim" over the water, and I'm wondering if other snowmobilers have experienced similar dangers on this lake. I can't even begin to imagine the uncertainty his family faces—really hoping they find some answers someday.
I came across an old article about Paul Blanco's case and found something intriguing. It mentioned that the snowmobile was discovered around 700 feet from the shore. I wonder if that specific area of Sebago Lake has any particular currents or underwater formations that could explain why his body was never recovered? Also, did anyone else hear about any unusual weather conditions that day? Lakes can have such unpredictable elements, especially with freezing water in late February. Just trying to gather more insight since it's been years, and his family still has so many unanswered questions. Anyone familiar with snowmobiling on Sebago Lake have thoughts or experiences to share?
