Has anyone looked into the nursing home records around Plains Township from that time? If Mary Mikulak was elderly and new to the area, maybe something was overlooked regarding her needing medical care or assistance. It makes me wonder if she might have interacted with any local services, especially since she moved there with her granddaughter and her disabled great-grandson. It’s strange that there was a joint bank account involved, and then the checks situation came up. Sometimes there's a paper trail we don't expect. Could it be possible that any local facilities or services might have names or faces she interacted with around that time? Just brainstorming here, hoping for any lead that might bring some answers.
