I can't stop thinking about the community and Ira Wright Jr.'s family after reading about the tragic events that unfolded back in October 2015. What really has me shaken is how this incident underscores the risks faced by families who just want to enjoy a casual evening in their own neighborhoods. Two adults and two children were in the house at the time, and it's terrifying to think how close they were to the danger. It makes me wonder about the lasting impact this must have had on them. More needs to be done to ensure that our communities are safe spaces where such tragedies never become the norm. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Ira; I hope they find strength in their memories of him and in each other.
