I'm new here but felt compelled to share about William Adkins Jr.'s case—it's one of those that really sticks with you, you know? The thing that really gets me is how William wasn't reported missing until months after he disappeared. It seems like so much valuable time could have been lost there. I understand it must be hard for his family, given his lifestyle and the fact that he often went months without contact, but it makes me wonder if there’s something systemic we’re missing in terms of support for those experiencing homelessness. Does anyone know if there were any initiatives in Richmond or Petersburg around that time to help people in similar situations to better stay in touch with loved ones? Maybe there was something missed that could help other families avoid a similar situation. Thoughts?

I recently came across the case of William Adkins Jr., and something that stands out to me is his tendency to go months without contacting his family. It's not uncommon for individuals in transient situations to have irregular communication, but I think this detail might have played a major role in the delay of reporting him missing. It makes me wonder if there was anyone — maybe a friend or acquaintance he trusted — who might have noticed any changes or had more insight into his routine before he vanished. I feel like if someone was familiar with his pattern of movement between Richmond and Petersburg, they could provide vital clues. Does anyone know if local shelters or community organizations in those areas were ever reached out to during the investigation? It seems like street outreach workers or staff might have some additional insight.
