I was just thinking about the impact that Rafael "Turtle" Avina Jr.'s death had on his sons, Julian and Elijah. Losing a parent at any age is devastating, but these boys lost their father to such a horrendous act of violence. I can't even imagine the pain and confusion they must have felt, especially seeing the community and legal system involved in something so personal. It's heartening to know the community has rallied behind them, offering support in what must be an unimaginably difficult time. I really hope they find some peace and continue to carry the love and warmth their dad was known for. Let's also not forget to remember Rafael for the joy he brought into this world and hope justice truly serves his family's memory.
