I've been following Benito Garcia's case since it first happened, and I just can't get his family out of my mind. There's something hauntingly bittersweet about communities coming together in the face of tragedy. I recently attended one of the vigils held in his memory, and it was incredibly moving to see how many people showed up to celebrate Benito’s life and call for peace. It’s a testament to the kind of person he was and the deep impact he had on those around him. I remember hearing a story shared at the vigil about how Benito always had a knack for brightening people’s day, no matter what. It just breaks my heart that a young person with so much promise and kindness was taken in such a senseless way. I think events like these really remind us all of the importance of looking out for one another and working towards a safer community. My thoughts continue to be with his loved ones, and I genuinely hope that they find some comfort and justice through the community’s support.
