It's truly disturbing to learn that the gun used in Abel Enrique Esquivel Jr.’s murder was actually stolen from a police officer's vehicle. I can't even begin to imagine the pain his family must be feeling knowing that the weapon should have never been on the street in the first place. This really makes me question how incidents like these are prevented in the future. The fact that the officer's car was left unsecured sounds like a glaring oversight on the police department's part. If there's no accountability here, how can we trust systems meant to protect us? It's frustrating because Abel's family isn't just dealing with their loss; they're confronting these failures, too. I hope there are changes within the department to ensure such reckless negligence doesn't lead to another senseless loss. My heart goes out to Abel's family and the community as they navigate through this unimaginable tragedy.
