Hey everyone,
I’ve been digging into Damond "Wildman" Peters' case more recently and felt compelled to share a thought that’s been on my mind. With Damond being such an active figure in the community, especially through his involvement with the Red Hawk Hunters, it makes me reflect on how cultural connections can sometimes hold crucial keys to solving cases. Do you think there’s potential here for someone within those circles to come forward with information?
It’s really hard to grasp how a tight-knit community hasn’t been able, thus far, to shed more light on what happened to Damond. I understand it’s been over a decade, and people might feel hesitations due to the climate back in 2010, but maybe time has allowed for some reflection or new perspectives.
It’s devastating to think that such a promising young life was cut short and that his loved ones are still without answers. My heart goes out to them as they continue to wrestle with this. Community strength, history, and heritage — perhaps these could be the very tools that lead us toward justice and healing. Let's hope for a breakthrough soon.
Would love to hear your thoughts or any insights, especially if you’re local. Any little bit could help.
Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone,
I've been thinking about Damond "Wildman" Peters and how integral he was to his community. It's apparent that he made a significant impact through his involvement with the Red Hawk Hunters, and he seemed to have been someone who truly celebrated his culture. It's so tragic that a young man who was actively connecting with his heritage and inspiring others lost his life in such a senseless way.
What's more concerning, though, is how many cases like Damond's remain unsolved. I read that 2010 was a particularly violent year for New Orleans, and it seems like the increase in murder rates overwhelmed law enforcement efforts. It's frustrating and sad that families like Damond's are left without closure for so many years. The fact that they're trying to use forensic techniques to reopen these cold cases gives me some hope, but it feels like more community involvement could make a real difference.
Does anyone know if there have been any recent initiatives or if there's something more that we as a community can do to support and push for answers?
Sending love to Damond's family and friends. His memory deservedly lives on through all those who knew him.
Stay safe, everyone. ?
