I've been thinking a lot about the timeline of events leading up to the tragedy of the Moll family. It's troubling to consider the state of mind Daniel must have been in during those days. A lot of folks around here knew him as a friendly and caring person, but maybe there were signs we all missed. It's so unfortunate that this family slipped through the cracks without anyone noticing anything was wrong. The fact that their children were left unharmed makes me wonder if there was a certain "plan" or if some twisted sense of preservation for the kids was involved. My heart genuinely goes out to those kids, having to deal with the overwhelming reality of losing both parents under such circumstances. It's a heavy burden that they'll carry for life. Sending strength to their family and the entire community as they continue to heal from this.
Did anyone else find it odd that none of the neighbors heard any gunshots? I’ve been mulling over how nobody in the neighborhood reported anything, especially in a small community like Mount Shasta where you'd think that sound would carry. It's just puzzling to me. Was it one of the children? Did they somehow manage to dial in the midst of such a horrific event, or was it a passerby who heard something unusual? I think about how brave and quick-thinking the caller must have been, especially if it was one of the kids. It’s incomprehensible what they went through, yet it might have been their actions that led authorities to the scene to secure their safety. My heart goes out to them, having to grow up with this trauma. I'm really hoping they've been surrounded by love and support in the aftermath of it all.
