Hey everyone, I’ve been following Gerald Smith's case for a while now, and something's been on my mind. I recently stumbled upon a discussion about how community-based search efforts have evolved over the years, and it got me thinking about Gerald's disappearance back in 2015.
Does anyone remember the massive flyer distribution effort in Charleston? I read somewhere that nearly every business and lamppost had one of those flyers. It’s incredible to see a community rally like that, but it also makes me wonder if those traditional methods were as effective as we all hoped.
In today’s digital age, do you think Gerald's case could have benefited even more from advanced technology back then, like drones or newer social media platforms that weren't as widely used in 2015? I know his family did a lot with what was available at the time, but I'm curious how much more impact newer tools might have had in those critical early days. Thoughts?
Hey everyone,
I wanted to discuss a detail that's been on my mind regarding Gerald Smith's disappearance. During the early days of the investigation, there was mention of a local volunteer group that assisted in searching the areas around Charleston. It was reported that they combed through nearby parks, trails, and even some abandoned buildings. I'm curious if anyone knows whether there were any significant findings or clues unearthed during these searches, even if they seemed minor at the time. It seems like sometimes small details can be key to unraveling a case like this, and I'd hate for any potential hints to be overlooked. Also, were any additional searches organized in the following years, or did the initial efforts end after a certain point? Any insight or local knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Let's keep the conversation going for Gerald and his family.
