Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Ciria Sanchez Diaz and something keeps sticking with me—the location where this terrible event happened. A Denny's parking lot is somewhere we wouldn’t usually associate with such a tragedy, right? It makes me wonder if she was there because it was a public place, maybe hoping it would offer some sort of safety. It’s just so disheartening that even places we consider safe can turn into scenes of tragedy under such circumstances. The system clearly failed her by not offering real protection despite the protective order she had. We need to do more as a society to ensure that victims of domestic abuse can truly find refuge and feel secure wherever they choose to go. Her plight should serve as a call to action for better protective measures. Thinking of Ciria’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Let's hope this will push for stronger actions and changes in domestic violence policies. Stay safe, everyone.
