I’ve been thinking a lot about the Astorga case from Vista lately. It's truly difficult to wrap my mind around the fact that such a charming couple, who taught so many of us valuable life lessons, could be involved in such a devastating incident. I used to see Della and Alfredo at community events, always willing to lend a hand or offer a kind word. To those who knew them—they were practically part of the family.
Something that really got to me was the way the community came together to support their family after this tragedy. It was moving to see everyone rally around them, yet it also emphasized how deeply unexpected this was. Sometimes it's a reminder of how we don't always know what struggles might be happening behind closed doors.
Does anyone else feel that neighbors and friends might need more platforms to discuss these things openly to hopefully intervene and provide support before it’s too late? I know it might not change what happened, but maybe it could help another family in the future.
