I keep coming back to the timing of Vanessa being reported missing. It just baffles me that it took nearly a whole year for anyone to alert the authorities. I can't help but wonder why it took so long for her family or friends to notice she was gone or to take action. Was it a lack of communication, or did they try to report it but face some obstacles? I know in some cases it can be difficult to realize something's wrong until it's well past time because people might assume the missing person is just busy or has gone off the grid for personal reasons. But still, in this case, with Vanessa having a close circle, you'd think someone would've sounded the alarm much earlier. It leaves room for so many questions about her relationships and what her life was really like in those last few months leading up to her disappearance.
