It's deeply distressing to read about the murder of Jesus Teolbaldo Ortega, especially knowing his young daughter, Yvonne, has to grow up without him. I can't help but think about the trauma this incident must have caused in the community of Lamont. It's been over five years now, and it seems like the investigation has stalled. The 8200 block of Gail Marie Drive should have been buzzing with activity at that time on a Sunday night. How has there not been a witness who saw or heard something that could blow this case wide open? Maybe there were scared neighbors or people unsure if what they saw was relevant—I get it, but it's critical that anyone with even the slightest information contacts the authorities. It’s so important for the community to stand together and support the investigations. Ortega’s family deserves answers, and, ultimately, justice. Has anyone heard if the KCSO is considering looking into new potential angles? Any recent activity or community-led efforts to keep this case alive would be appreciated here.
