I've been following the case of Everardo Anguiano and it got me thinking about how small communities like Planada can change forever after such a violent event. The fact that Everardo was just 19 and had his whole life ahead of him makes this even harder to understand and accept. It's not just Everardo's family that suffers—his friends, neighbors, and everyone else in town are affected too. These communities often feel tight-knit, and a crime like this can leave a lingering sense of fear and uncertainty. I read somewhere that the motive was still unclear for a long time. It must have been so frustrating for those who knew him, not understanding why this happened. When they finally arrested a suspect, it seemed to provide a glimmer of hope, but I can't imagine the anxiety of going through a long legal process. It must feel like a rollercoaster of emotions. Does anyone know if the community has done anything to honor his memory, like a vigil or a memorial? It might be a small comfort to his family and friends to see that he's remembered and that the community stands with them in demanding justice. It’s just such a painful reminder of how important it is for all of us to support each other and work together to create a safer environment.
