I recently came across the story of Percy Williams Jr., and it really got me thinking about how often we hear about these tragedies but never about the people behind the headlines. It seems like Percy's life was full of love, especially for his kids. I can’t even begin to imagine the void his loss has left in their lives. His community has likely felt this loss deeply, too. It’s heart-wrenching that something so devastating is just a regular occurrence in places like New Orleans. Why do these stories fade without any answers or justice? I hope Percy's family continues to find strength in each other and that, someday, every short-lived life like his doesn't just become another statistic. Keeping them in my thoughts today.
