Hi everyone, I've been reading up on Derrick Baker's case, and I can't stop thinking about the effect his loss must have had on the local community. Compton has been dealing with so much violence for years, and it’s upsetting to see how this continues to tear families apart. I was really struck by how many people seem scared to come forward with information. I know a lot of people fear retaliation, but there must be more that can be done to protect witnesses and encourage them to help bring justice for Derrick. Maybe local organizations could step in and provide a voice for those who are too scared to speak out. Providing a safe platform might lead to more breakthroughs not just for Derrick's case but for others as well. Just a thought. What do you all think? Could strengthening community bonds and safety nets for witnesses make a real difference? Stay safe out there. ?
