Kendall's case still weighs heavily on my mind. It’s been over a decade, and I can't imagine what his family continues to go through, not having the closure they deserve. The fact that the area he was in had such a high incidence of violent crime makes me wonder why more wasn't done back then to make those neighborhoods safer?
It feels like every couple of weeks, there was another name added to the list, and sadly, Kendall's was one of them. I remember reading about him, a young guy robbed of his future. It's infuriating and heart-wrenching.
The community support and cooperation with the NOPD would have been crucial back then and still is now. Has anyone heard updates on how the local initiatives have progressed since then, or if any new strategies have been put in place to combat the violence in that area? I'm hoping something good comes from these tragedies eventually. Kendall deserved better, and so does everyone touched by these senseless acts of violence.
Hey sleuths,

I've been following the tragic case of Kendall Holmes, who was so senselessly taken from this world in 2011. It's heartbreaking to think of his family and friends still grappling with such a loss. What stood out to me in the discussions and reports is the crucial role community involvement plays in solving cases like this.

I wonder how much more progress could be made if there were greater neighborhood collaboration with the police. It’s frustrating to hear that so many cases remain unsolved due to lack of witnesses or evidence. There’s often a deep-seated mistrust between residents and law enforcement, especially in areas with high crime rates.

I would love to know if there have been any later efforts in New Orleans to bridge this gap. Are there any successful programs that build trust and encourage community members to come forward? Maybe there's a silver lining or lesson we can focus on to help prevent more senseless tragedies in the future. Any insights or thoughts from others familiar with how different communities have successfully tackled this would be great.

Stay safe, everyone. Let's keep these important conversations going. ?
