I’ve been thinking a lot about Damian Wilkins, the 8-year-old boy in this terrible tragedy. It's hard to comprehend such loss, especially when I think about what his life could have been. Damian was just a kid, with dreams and a future ahead of him, and it’s incredibly painful to realize all of that was taken in an instant. I can’t imagine the ripple effect this has had on his friends and classmates, and I hope the community wraps its arms around them during this time. It's often said that communities are like extended families in small towns, and I hope that's true for Willits right now. They all must be going through something unimaginable, and my heart goes out to everyone grieving Damian and Krissy. If any of Damian’s friends or their families need support, I hope they reach out. No one should navigate something like this alone. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight, everyone. ❤️
