Has anyone else been following the trial closely and noticed the role that technology played in securing Gerardo Gaona’s conviction? I was really struck by how the surveillance footage from that night corroborated K.M.'s eyewitness account. It’s wild how we’re living in an age where cameras just everywhere can piece together events and help in solving crimes. I can’t even imagine how relieved Hector Valey's family must feel knowing that justice is served. I hope the community can take some steps forward to improve safety around Pico-Union—it’s so unfair how these repeated acts of violence haunt so many neighborhoods. Would be great to hear thoughts on how technology might be helping in other cases like this.
