Hey everyone, I’ve been following this case and felt compelled to share some thoughts. It’s getting intense as the trial date approaches. I just can’t stop thinking about the impact that Javier Morales’s death has had on his family and those who cared for him. I saw that the community has really come together, organizing vigils and memorials in his memory—such an inspiring show of solidarity and support. It’s clear from this case that Javier was loved and that his loss is deeply felt by those who knew him. I hope that as the trial unfolds, all the details come to light so that justice can be served for him and his family. Kudos to the LAPD for the breakthrough with the witness, but my heart goes out to all the loved ones hanging in there day by day. Also, on a broader level, it’s crucial that we keep talking about gun violence and what we can do to prevent such tragic incidents from happening again.
